Welcome to the webpage of
the PTA. My name is Tracy Bisson and I
am the current Chair of the Association.
This site has been created to keep parents and friends of the College informed about our current projects and will provide you with information about our forthcoming events.
Who are we?
The Blanchelande PTA is made up of parents and teachers from the infants, juniors and seniors who provide a broad base of ideas and experience. The teaching staff consists of the Principal, Vice-Principal, Head of Primary School and a teachers' representative. In addition we have a representative from the Board of Governors.
Members are nominated annually at the AGM in October and are elected for a term of one year but can be re-elected for up to three years.
A monthly meeting is held in the Principal’s office where all aspects of school life are discussed including forthcoming school and PTA events.
Class Representatives
Although not part of the PTA our Class Representatives provide a vital conduit for parents’ comments and concerns where appropriate. We aim to have two Representatives for each class and they serve for a term of one year.
How does the money raised get allocated?
The money raised is used to meet school requests ranging from musical instruments, new books or computer software. Furthermore each year the PTA will raise funds for a specific project. In the past this has been the new decking area in the infants, the new junior playground and picnic benches for the seniors to name but a few.
How can I help the PTA?
We are always looking for additional help especially at our key fundraising events during the year. Whether you are able to provide time, cakes or donations please be assured that this is all greatly appreciated. As our school motto says ‘A family not a factory’ and by pulling together like a family it’s amazing what can be achieved for the good of the school.
